On this website I try to list all of the information that I would want to know if I were looking for preschool or daycare for my son.  Please contact me if you have any further questions about my program and I will be happy to provide the information you seek.

See the bottom of this page for contact information.

MY PROGRAM:

My hours are 7:00am to 5:30pm.  Each day is filled with a balance of learning, reading, arts/crafts, games, singing and fun.  I try to follow a similar schedule throughout each day so that the children know what to expect and can get into the type of rhythm that they will be exposed to once they start school.  To assure that each child gets special attention from me on a daily basis, I only keep a small group of full time children in my program.  I generally only accept children that are beyond 18 months of age as my program isn't geared for the type of care that infants require.  If your child is just past 18 months I would be happy to meet with you to see if they would be a good candidate to start my program.

My home includes a 400 sq. ft. inside learning/play area with extra padding under the carpet, an office with several computer learning centers and a large private back yard with swing sets, slides and toys for both older and younger children.  I supply your child with a breakfast snack, a healthy lunch and an afternoon snack.  At the end of each day I supply the parent with a Daily Info Sheet detailing your child's activities, meals and moods that day.  This sheet is a great way to keep you informed of your child's daily routine and their accomplishments.

WHAT I TEACH:

Shapes, Colors, Numbers & ABC's (saying as well as recognizing), Basic Sign Language, The Planets, US States & Capitals, Spelling, Basic Math, Writing, Counting Money, Telling Time, Historical Figures & Events, Good Citizenship and other useful information.  I have the entire 'Hooked On Phonics' program as well and it is an incredible toolset for teaching young children to read.  I also teach them important things like proper manners and respect, potty training, brushing their teeth, keeping their hands washed and tying their shoes.  In addition to my regular collection of children's books, my son and I go to the library each weekend to get new books to read for the following week.

Most home providers don't bother to spend much time teaching their children as they believe that children will learn all of this when they get to school.  I've even had them tell me at meetings that the children will be bored in school if I teach them too much.  I am from a completely different mindset.  How can you teach a child too much?  I think that any head start you can give a child in this world can only be beneficial to them.  At these ages their brains are growing at an astounding rate and they relish the opportunity to soak up as much as you are willing to teach.  I am a firm believer that by feeding the hunger to learn that they have now, you will set them up to have better study habits and greater success as they grow older.  If your child does surpass their peers then they have great gifted programs at the schools to challenge them and keep them from being bored.  Education really is the key to the future.

MY FEE:

$160/week for full time care or $40/day for part time drop-in care.  (3 days or more in a week constitutes full time)
